Woman shot to death in Laplace

LAPLACE, La. (AP) - Authorities in St. John the Baptist Parish are investigating the shooting death of a 46-year-old woman in Laplace (lah-PLAHS’)

New Orleans-area media report that the St. John sheriff’s office responded to a call about the shooting in an apartment around 9 p.m. Friday.

The woman, who had been shot in the left arm, was pronounced dead at the scene after deputies and emergency medical responders arrived.

There was no word Saturday morning on suspects or the motive.
