BERNALILLO, N.M. (AP) - Authorities have identified a man who was killed in a crash on I-25 in Sandoval County.

KOAT-TV in Albuquerque reports (https://bit.ly/2cU7SQC ) Frank Lopez was driving southbound at the Cochiti Pueblo on Saturday afternoon when he rear-ended another vehicle.

According to witnesses, Lopez was traveling between 70-75 mph when he hit a Chevy truck.



Sandoval County sheriff’s deputies say traffic had been slowing down for a construction zone.

Lopez was pronounced dead the scene.

Eight people, including four children, were in the truck.

Deputies say they all were transported to a hospital in Santa Fe.

One was airlifted with a back injury. The children’s injuries were minor.

The impact to the truck caused a chain reaction with two other vehicles, each carrying four people.

None of them were injured.
