WANTAGH, N.Y. (AP) - Authorities have identified the body of a Long Island man who was found floating in the water last week.

Authorities say two boaters saw the body of 63-year-old Daniel Boyle, of Baldwin, floating in the water off Jones Beach State Park on Friday and pulled him aboard.

Boyle was taken to a nearby U.S. Coast Guard station and then to a hospital. Hospital staff declared him dead late Friday afternoon.

Newsday reports authorities found Boyle’s capsized boat in the Jones Beach Inlet. It wasn’t immediately clear why it overturned.

Boyle’s daughter Tammy Genovese tells the newspaper her father had been fishing on Friday on a 20-foot Wellcraft.

His funeral is scheduled for Thursday morning at a funeral home in Wantagh (WAHN’-tah).
