Former Republican presidential candidate Jeb Bush made a surprise cameo as Jimmy Kimmel’s Uber driver in the opening skit at the Emmys Sunday night.

In the skit, Mr. Kimmel hurriedly jumps into the passenger seat of the car before realizing that his driver is the former governor of Florida.

“I’m in between jobs right now,” Mr. Bush says. “You know you can make $12 an hour driving for Uber?”

He then asks Mr. Kimmel if he’s nominated: “Wow. What’s that like?”

After the late-night host says there’s a lot of competition to win, Mr. Bush offers his advice: “If you run a positive campaign, the voters ultimately will make the right choice.”

“You know it’s funny you say that — ” Mr. Kimmel responds.

“Jimmy, that was a joke,” Mr. Bush says before kicking Mr. Kimmel out of the car.

“And shave that wig off your face, you godless Hollywood hippie. Jeb exclamation point!” Mr. Bush says as he drives away.

During his opening monologue, Mr. Kimmel mocked Donald Trump, the Republican presidential nominee, and blamed the producer of “Celebrity Apprentice” for his popularity.

“Many have asked who is to blame for Donald Trump. And I’ll tell you who … Mark Burnett, the man who brought us ‘Celebrity Apprentice,’” the comedian said. “Thanks to him, we don’t have to watch reality shows anymore because we’re living in one.”

“He’s responsible. I’m going on the record right now: If Donald Trump gets elected and he builds that wall, the first person we’re throwing over it is Mark Burnett,” he said.
