LACONIA, N.H. (AP) - Police in Laconia, New Hampshire, broke into a suspect’s car to arrest her after a high-speed chase through several towns that started at the Lakes Region Casino.
Police say they responded to a report of a theft at the Belmont casino late Sunday. They clocked a vehicle traveling 90 mph in a 45 mph zone. They pursued it from Belmont into Laconia and Gilford before ending in Laconia.
Police say the driver, identified as 48-year-old Sherry Giddis, of Gilmanton, refused to open the car door, forcing them to break a window.
Giddis was charged in Laconia with three counts of disobeying an officer; aggravated DWI, and other charges. She may face more charges in Belmont and Gilford.
She was scheduled to be arraigned Monday afternoon; it wasn’t immediately known if she had a lawyer.
