NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) - Police are searching for whoever they say shot a Nashville Electric Service worker and stole her work-issued car.

The Tennessean reports (https://tnne.ws/2ddsmWP) Metro Nashville Police say the shooting happened early Monday morning near Cleveland Park.

Authorities say the suspect shot a female worker at least one time, then carjacked a white NES vehicle driven by the worker.

NES spokeswoman Laurie Parker said the employee is a meter reader and that she was taken to a hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Officials say officers found the stolen NES vehicle in an alley shortly after the shooting. The suspect hadn’t been found as of Monday morning.
