MARICOPA, Ariz. (AP) - Classes are canceled for the day at the high school in the south-central Arizona community of Maricopa because of a threat.

Police spokesman Ricky Alvarado says only a few people were on campus when the school was evacuated Tuesday morning because of a threat received by fax.

Police began searching the school and students arriving on campus were bused from the high school to Desert Wind Middle School so parents could pick up them up there.

Alvarado said the faxed letter contained several threats, including one about a bomb.
