GERMANTOWN, Wis. (AP) - Officials say three people were burned when gasoline was thrown onto a burning fire pit in Germantown, causing an explosion.

The Germantown Fire Department says a 25-year-old woman suffered second- and third-degree burns over 40 percent of her body early Saturday.

The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel (https://bit.ly/2drSjlr ) reports the woman’s burns involved respiratory areas. She was flown to the Columbia St. Mary’s Regional Burn Center.

Crews originally were dispatched to a McDonald’s restaurant but learned the incident happened at a home. The second victim was found at the McDonald’s, also with burns over 40 percent of her body but not involving respiratory areas. Paramedics took her to the burn center.

A third victim with burns to his chest and hands also was identified. His wife drove him to the burn center.
