SALT LAKE CITY (AP) - Salt Lake City is embracing a new element of its skyline with the completion of an office tower owned by the Mormon church.

The Salt Lake Tribune reports (https://bit.ly/2d9AB5s) that church and government officials celebrated and prayed Thursday over the construction of a 24-story skyscraper.

Mayor Jackie Biskupski says the building at the corner of Main Street and 100 South is a “new icon.”

The tower’s layout includes 35-foot-high windows and a huge video wall showing images of Utah landscapes.

The building is topped with 32-foot-high translucent glass that has 132 LED lighting projectors.

Officials say it is the city’s third-tallest structure.
