TEMPE, Ariz. (AP) - Authorities say a woman trying to help stranded motorists along a Tempe freeway ended up being the victim of robbery and assault.

The Arizona Department of Public Safety says the incident happened early Sunday near the Loop 101 and US 60.

The victim was heading home from work around 3 a.m. when two men and two females, including a juvenile, flagged her down.

According to DPS, the victim pulled over and one female suspect got into her car and struck her in the face.

They took her purse and fled on foot.

Tempe police located all four suspects at an apartment complex several miles away.

Three are being charged with robbery and assault. The juvenile is a runaway.

DPS officials say the victim’s injuries were not serious.
