WEBSTER, N.Y. (AP) - Federal authorities have arrested a man in connection with the fatal robbery of a Rochester-area federal credit union 13 years ago.

The U.S. Attorney’s Office in Buffalo says Tuesday Richard Leon Wilbern is accused of robbery and homicide in the 2003 bank heist on the campus of the Xerox Corp. manufacturing center in Webster.

Authorities say the suspect identified himself as an FBI agent, questioned employees about security, then pulled out a sawed-off shotgun and a handgun and announced a robbery.

Two people were shot, and 51-year-old Raymond Batzel of Lima died.

In March, authorities posted a reward for information in the case.

It could not be determined if Wilbern has a lawyer to comment for him.
