SCOTTSBLUFF, Neb. (AP) - The editor of the weekly newspaper in Gering has been named editor of the daily Scottsbluff Star-Herald in the Nebraska Panhandle.

The Star-Herald reports (https://bit.ly/2cSsQO7 ) that Brad Staman has replaced Star-Herald Editor Bart Schaneman, who is moving to Colorado for a business journalism opportunity.

Staman led the Courier for eight years as it won five awards for excellence from the Nebraska Press Association. The Star-Herald he’ll be leading publishes six days a week and has a circulation of more than 9,600.

Star-Herald sports editor Jeff Fielder will succeed Staman as editor of the Gering Courier. Fielder has served 17 years as sports editor of the Scottsbluff paper.
