PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) - Police say a 30-year-old Portland woman who was reported missing nearly a week ago has contacted them and is safe.

Portland Police said in a news release Friday that Amber Dawn Pierini has been in contact with them and is no longer considered a missing person. Police say she had voluntarily been out of contact with her family.

Police said previously Pierini had left home Saturday night to help a friend and didn’t return.
