OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) - A Pontotoc County man is dead following a single-vehicle crash.

The Oklahoma Highway Patrol says 21-year-old Jimmy Pinson Jr. of Roff was killed in Friday’s crash on Oklahoma Highway 1.

Troopers say the crash occurred at about 8:15 a.m. one mile south of the Chickasaw Turnpike and 2 miles north of Roff in Pontotoc County.

The patrol says Pinson’s pickup truck ran off the roadway to the right, overcorrected and went into a broad slide before leaving the roadway again, overturning and striking a utility pole. The victim was pinned in the wreckage for about 45 minutes before he was extricated by the Ada Fire Department.

There were no passengers in the vehicle. Troopers say the victim was wearing a seat belt.
