AVONDALE, Ariz. (AP) - An 18-year-old Avondale man shot in the leg while chasing a burglar running from a neighbor’s home says he’s had second thoughts about his actions.

Zantrell Dixon told KPNX-TV (https://goo.gl/4QkC0V ) that he knows he could have been more seriously injured or even killed during the Saturday evening accident.

Dixon said he saw a person with a backpack running out of the home of the neighbor, whom Dixon knew was out of town.

He was shot the leg about a block away as he chased the person.

Police said three burglars apparently were involved in the incident, which police believe include shots being fired at a woman’s car as she drove in the area at the time. She wasn’t injured.
