RENO, Nev. (AP) - Authorities say the body of a missing 62-year-old woman from Sacramento has been pulled from the Truckee River, which flows through California and Nevada.

Pamela Suwinsky’s death is now under investigation by the South Lake Tahoe Police Department.

Police had responded to a South Lake Tahoe motel on April 3 after Suwinsky’s ex-husband told officers the woman left the Motel 6 on foot. She took her ID and credit cards but left behind her dog, purse, cellphone and car.

The El Dorado County Sheriff’s Office located the woman’s body in the river on Sunday and officials positively identified her as Suwinsky.

It is not yet clear how she died.
