NEW TOWN, N.D. (AP) - Court documents show a man accused of assaulting a federal officer on the Fort Berthold Reservation has reached a plea agreement with prosecutors.

Max Garett Moede is expected to change his plea Tuesday in federal court in Bismarck to acknowledge assaulting a Three Affiliated Tribes officer in January.

The Minot Daily News (https://bit.ly/2nxZb64 ) reports Moede was detained by police after a fire started in his trailer at the 4 Bears Casino and Lodge RV Park. Moede is accused of resisting arrest and assaulting Officer Andres Martinez after he was taken to the police station.

A plea agreement filed ahead of Moede’s court appearance says prosecutors could recommend a year to 18 months in prison.
