FELTON, Del. (AP) - Delaware State Police are identifying a man who was struck by a car and killed in Kent County.

Police identified the man in a release Monday afternoon as 50-year-old John Miller of Felton. The crash happened early Monday on South DuPont Highway in the Felton area.

Police say Miller was walking in the right lane when he was hit by a Volkswagen Golf. He was thrown onto the hood and windshield before rolling onto the roadway. Police say Miller died at the scene. The driver of the Volkswagen stopped on the shoulder and wasn’t injured.

Police say it doesn’t look like speed or alcohol were factors in this crash. They say Miller was wearing dark clothing and wasn’t carrying a flashlight or wearing any reflective clothing.
