SALEM, Ore. (AP) - Oregon State Penitentiary officials say a brawl involving roughly 20 inmates caused a lockdown.

The fight happened Sunday night in a recreation area at the Salem prison that houses more than 2,000 men.

Officials say guards used chemical spray to quell the violence and multiple inmates were taken to disciplinary segregation.

No major injuries were reported. The prison canceled visiting hours and activities until further notice.
