NEW YORK (AP) - About 200 firefighters battled a heavy fire in a 7-story apartment building in Queens.

The 5-alarm fire broke out on the top floor of the building on 94th Street in Elmhurst at about 6:30 p.m. Tuesday.

Fire officials say over 100 apartments were damaged before the fire was brought under control about four hours later. The Red Cross was at the scene to provide assistance.

Eleven firefighters suffered minor injuries.

Fire officials did not say what caused the blaze.
