HONESDALE, Pa. (AP) - A Pennsylvania man has pleaded guilty to attempted homicide for throwing his girlfriend’s 4-year-old boy into the arm of a couch in hopes of breaking the boy’s neck.
Thirty-two-year-old Steven Wojtowicz (VOYT’-uh-wich) faces up to 30 years in prison after his plea to that charge and others in the Nov. 7 altercation. He faces sentencing June 1 in Wayne County.
State police contend the defendant punched and slapped the boy’s mother at a Berlin Township residence, then hit, choked and threw the boy “saying he hoped the child’s neck would break.”
Wojtowicz also pleaded guilty to threatening to kill the boy’s mother and to bury them both in the swamp behind the house.
The boy was taken to a hospital as a precaution, but not seriously injured.
