CHICAGO (AP) - Authorities say three people have been injured in a massive fire that appears to have been triggered by an explosion at an apartment building on Chicago’s South Side.

The Chicago Fire Department says crews were called to the blaze around 6 a.m. Saturday.

Witnesses told authorities that the fire was started by an explosion. Authorities say the cause hasn’t been determined and remains under investigation.

One person was hospitalized with severe burns. Another was injured while jumping out of a window from the building. A third suffered minor cuts.

Fire officials say part of the building collapsed.

Over 100 emergency crews were called to the building.
