FAIRFAX, Va. (AP) - Fairfax County police are investigating the death of an inmate.

Police say a 49-year-old woman was discovered unresponsive in her cell at the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center just after 9 a.m. on Sunday. Police say sheriff’s deputies administered CPR and called for emergency crews, who pronounced the woman dead.

Investigators say there were no signs of trauma, and that the woman was alone in her cell at the time of her death. Her body is being sent to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner for an autopsy to determine the cause and manner of death. Police are not yet releasing her identity.
