In a statement Wednesday, Aethon Energy Co-President and partner Gordon Huddleston described the accident as “tragic” and said it occurred “while a contractor’s workers dismantled a tank.”
“The cause is being investigated in cooperation with applicable governmental regulatory agencies,” he said.
The man who died was identified late Tuesday as Camron Anthony Hernandez of Diana, Texas, an unincorporated community in Upshur County. He was pronounced dead at DeSoto Regional Hospital.
Two others were treated for moderate and minor injuries. Their names have not been released.
