STAMFORD, Conn. (AP) - Stamford police say a man was critically injured when a gunman opened fire at a city barbershop.

Authorities responded to the Two Brothers Barber Shop at around 1 a.m. Sunday. Witnesses said the victim was inside the barbershop when a suspect fired several shots through a window.

Officials say the man is in critical condition at Yale New Haven Hospital. His name hasn’t been released.

Police told The Advocate newspaper (https://bit.ly/2oqqLSD ) that several witnesses have been interviewed and investigators were checking whether there was any surveillance camera footage of the shooting. The suspect hasn’t been identified.

Capt. Richard Conklin said it wasn’t clear what prompted the shooting. He said there were no reported incidents in the area before the suspect opened fire.
