SAN SIMON, Ariz. (AP) - Interstate 10 near the Arizona-New Mexico state line was closed for hours due to blowing dust.

The Arizona Department of Transportation says I-10 was closed in both directions for about 60 miles because of low visibility about 11 a.m. Tuesday east of Willcox, Arizona, through Lordsburg, New Mexico.

The freeway was reopened around 5:30 p.m.

Drivers had to use U.S. 191 and U.S. 70 as a detour.

The same border area has already seen several closures this year because of high winds that cause blowing dust.
