RENO, Nev. (AP) - Reno officials have their eye on a parcel of land that might house up to 30 homeless people in the future.
The Reno Gazette-Journal reports (https://on.rgj.com/2pwjZvo ) the City Council will vote Wednesday on whether to put an offer on the 1.6-acre parcel.
The land is listed at $350,000 and has been on the market for about a year.
The council wants to build a facility to house chronically homeless individuals with severe mental illness. The project also includes caseworkers, job training and life-skills training.
The council acquired $500,000 in federal money last year to acquire land for such a project.
