LAS VEGAS (AP) - Las Vegas police are investigating after a body was found in a patch of desert along a highway.

Police say the unidentified body found Tuesday was wrapped in a blanket and tarp and covered with large rocks.

Lt. Dan McGrath says two cousins of a missing 13-year-old boy who had been searching the area for clues to his whereabouts were the ones who discovered the body.

Aaron Jones was reported missing on April 14 and lived near where the body was found.

McGrath says the state of decomposition suggests the person had been dead for some time.

The Clark County Coroner’s Office will identify the body.
