NEW CUMBERLAND, Pa. (AP) - A body found by a fisherman in a central Pennsylvania river earlier this month is that of a Japanese man who had been living in New York and was reported missing in December.

The investigation into the death of 30-year-old Taku Minemura is continuing.

The York County, Pennsylvania coroner’s office used dental records to confirm the identity, which was announced Wednesday.

Minemura was living in Mineola, New York when he was reported missing Dec. 9, four days after he was last seen.

Police in York County have been working with Nassau County Police in New York on the investigation.

Minemura’s car was found abandoned on Jan. 14 in Summerdale a few miles from Fairview Township, where his body was found on April 15 in the Susquehanna River.
