RIDGEFIELD, N.J. (AP) - New Jersey firefighters have a new four-legged fan in Mia, a 1-year-old Pomsky they rescued from the undercarriage of a sectional recliner. The owners of Mia, Ruth and Jennifer Mendez, say that Mia snuck under the recliner and became caught in a coil. They then called 911.

Fire Captain David Brierty told NorthJersey.com (https://njersy.co/2pmPQ0T ) that the fire company jumped into action when they heard that a dog was in distress, and worked quickly to free the Pomeranian-Husky mix, which had some minor scrapes and bruising.

Ruth Mendez says she plans to deliver pizzas to the firefighters on Thursday as thanks, adding that Mia will accompany her.
