KALISPELL, Mont. (AP) - Officials in northwestern Montana say they’re investigating a possible homicide after a man went over a bridge and into the Flathead River.

Flathead County Sheriff Chuck Curry says the man went into the river from the Old Steel Bridge near Evergreen at about 7 p.m. Wednesday. Officers are looking for a woman and two men in their late teens or early 20s who were reportedly on the bridge with the man and then left in an older maroon minivan. Their names are not known.

Curry says a witness saw the man floating down the river in obvious distress before he slipped under the water. He was believed to be in his late 50s or early 60s.

Search and rescue teams unsuccessfully searched for the man Wednesday night.
