LOS ANGELES (AP) - The Los Angeles County district attorney’s office says a 26-year-old man has pleaded no contest to leaving his 9-month-old daughter inside a car while he went to a strip club.

Deputy District Attorney Julie Kramer says Auwin Dargin of Van Nuys entered the plea Wednesday to a felony count of child abuse.

Dargin was sentenced to 10 days in county jail, five years of probation, 45 days of highway department work and 52 weeks of parenting classes.

The baby was left in the car for more than 40 minutes in the afternoon of March 9, 2016.

Employees of the strip club and neighboring businesses spotted the baby sweating and crying, and confronted the father.
