CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (AP) - The owners of a boutique hotel in downtown Richmond are planning to open a second location in Charlottesville.

The Daily Progress reports (https://bit.ly/2qbshGg ) the new Quirk hotel will be built on a lot that contains two historic properties, and it will incorporate the buildings rather than tear them down.

Designs are still being finalized but current plans call for a 78-room, four-story hotel with a rooftop bar and meeting and event spaces.

Construction is set to begin in early 2018, with an opening in mid-2019.
