GREENVILLE, S.C. (AP) - A Piedmont man has been found dead at a gas station in north Greenville, an apparent victim of a shooting at a nearby apartment complex.

Deputy Coroner Jeff Fowler tells local media that 21-year-old Azaveon Cook was found dead Sunday afternoon at the Spinx gas station. He had at least one gunshot wound.

Sheriff Will Lewis says video shows Cook was involved in an altercation at the nearby Boulder Creek Apartments, where the shooting happened. Cook ran from the scene and was picked up by a friend who took him to the Spinx.

Lewis says a second person who was shot was in surgery Sunday afternoon.

No arrests have been made. Descriptions of the suspects aren’t yet available.
