LINCOLNTON, N.C. (AP) - The Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office says a Denver man has been sentenced to at least 20 years in prison after pleading guilty in connection with his grandmother’s stabbing death in 2015.
A statement from the sheriff’s office on Tuesday said 40-year-old Chadwick Allen Bean pleaded guilty to second-degree murder in the death of 77-year-old Lucille Miller Punch.
According to the sheriff’s office, deputies were sent to the victim’s residence on Feb. 22, 2015 after her son-in-law found her with multiple stab wounds. Bean was arrested nearly four months later. He entered his guilty plea on Monday.
Authorities say a second person, 30-year-old Amber Dawn Harris of Morganton, is charged with accessory after the fact of a felony. Her case has not gone to trial.
