CROMWELL, Conn. (AP) - A Rocky Hill man is dead after his car collided with a tractor trailer truck on Interstate 91, tying up traffic for several hours.

State Police say 55-year-old Dzevat Cecunjanin was in his car Friday morning, stopped on the right shoulder. He then accelerated into the path of a tractor trailer that was moving from the center lane to the right lane.

The truck, driven by 45-year-old Ivan Yankivskly, of Webster, New York, struck the rear of Cecunjanin’s minivan, which then crashed into a metal guardrail.

Police say Cecunjanin was not wearing a seatbelt and was ejected from the vehicle. He died from his injuries. The tractor trailer driver was uninjured.

Anyone with information about the crash is asked to contact Trooper Doug Sackett at 860-534-1000.

This story has been corrected to show that Dzevat Cecunjanin is 55, not 45, and Ivan Yankivskly is 45, not 55.
