GREAT FALLS, Mont. (AP) - A transient was arrested in Montana after he was found sleeping in a pickup truck that had been reported stolen from a tavern hours earlier.

Police in Great Falls arrested 34-year-old Daniel Jason Ward on suspicion of felony theft after receiving reports the pickup was blocking an elementary school crosswalk Tuesday morning.

The Great Falls Tribune reports (gftrib.com/2p9xAoq) officers found Ward sleeping inside.

Police said Ward appeared intoxicated and told officers he didn’t know how he ended up with the truck or who the owner was.

Ward was listed as a suspect when the pickup was reported stolen at about 1 a.m. Tuesday.
