ROCK HILL, S.C. (AP) - Winthrop University is preparing for a costly dorm repair.
Winthrop’s trustees voted on Friday to put aside as much as $700,000 to fix the roof of Wofford residence hall, according to the Rock Hill Herald (https://bit.ly/2omp341 ).
Walter Hardin, associate vice president for facilities management, said that it was discovered last year that small pieces of the dorm’s 8th floor ceiling were falling because of wet spots in the concrete.
That floor has been unoccupied since the discovery.
The new repairs could happen over the summer.
