OMAHA, Neb. (AP) - Authorities say they’ve dropped charges filed against a suspect accused of killing an Omaha man outside his grandmother’s home.

Bernard Turner was arrested in November on charges that included first-degree murder. He’s accused of fatally shooting Jarrell Haynes on March 2, 2016.

Prosecutor Chad Brown said Wednesday that a witness has declined to cooperative and testify about what led to the shooting.

Brown says Turner won’t be freed, because federal prosecutors have an interest in him and because he’s suspected in a case of attempted murder in Aurora, Colorado.

Brown also says the Nebraska murder charges can be refiled.
