IRWIN, Pa. (AP) - Emergency dispatchers say a man has died after he was pinned or trapped beneath the counterweight on a piece of heavy equipment at a western Pennsylvania business.

The incident occurred about 9 a.m. Thursday at Aarcon Enterprises Inc. Officials there didn’t immediately return calls, but the company’s website says it provides heavy construction equipment and operators for major site improvement projects.

The man who died was reportedly pinned beneath the machinery from his waist down.

The Westmoreland County coroner and the federal Occupational Safety and Health Administration will investigate.

The dead man’s identity wasn’t immediately released and it wasn’t immediately clear if he was employed by Aarcon or at the company’s site in North Huntingdon Township for some other reason.

The company is located about 25 miles (40.2 kilometers) east of Pittsburgh.
