PIERRE, S.D. (AP) - An Oglala Sioux district vice chairman has pleaded guilty to embezzling from the tribe.

Fifty-seven-year-old Charles Cummings, of Martin, admitted in federal court earlier this month to stealing from the tribe between December 2015 and January 2016.

U.S. Attorney Randolph Seiler says Cummings has agreed to pay $2,500 in restitution.

He also faces up to a year in prison and a $100,000 fine. A sentencing date wasn’t immediately scheduled.
