ROSEBURG, Ore. (AP) - A judge has declared another mistrial in a southwestern Oregon murder case.
The News-Review reports (https://bit.ly/2vOZtZJ) that officials plan to meet Monday to set a date for a third trial for William Aguayo of Myrtle Creek.
A Douglas County Circuit Court judge on Thursday declared the mistrial due to inappropriate contact with a juror in the first-degree murder case.
In February 2016, a judge in Roseburg declared a mistrial after one juror refused to join 11 others in convicting Aguayo.
He’s charged with the 2013 killing of 57-year-old William Burton in what police say was a robbery and burglary of medical marijuana in Burton’s home.
