LAS VEGAS (AP) - Police in Las Vegas say they have made an arrest in a case stemming from a threatening note that officers found last month near the office of Republican U.S. Sen. Dean Heller.

Police say 62-year-old Richard Holley was arrested Monday. He faces charges of extortion, burglary and intimidating a public officer.

Officers responding to a report of a burglary on July 16 discovered the note addressed to Heller.

Authorities have not released the contents of the note.

Heller is regarded as the most endangered GOP incumbent senator in next year’s midterm elections. He is the only one running for re-election in a state President Donald Trump lost to former Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton.

Holley’s court record does not list an attorney. He is scheduled to appear in court Wednesday.
