MANCHESTER, N.H. (AP) - A New Hampshire woman has been arrested after police found her passed out in her car at a gas station with a 5-year-old child inside the vehicle.

Thirty-one-year-old Alyssa Lombardi of Manchester was arrested early Sunday and charged with possession of a controlled drug, operating under the influence of drugs or liquor and endangering the welfare of a child.

Manchester police responded to a complaint that Lombardi’s car has been sitting at a gas pump for over an hour. When they arrived, officers found Lombardi slumped next to a can of alcohol and a boy sleeping in the back seat. A police search turned up three bags of heroin.

Amid the opioid crisis, it has been increasingly common to find motorists passed out in their vehicles.

Lombardi could not be reached for comment. No phone number was listed in her name.
