ST. CHARLES, Ill. (AP) - A judge has ordered a 22-year-old suburban Chicago man jailed under $2 million bond on charges he fatally stabbed his father over the weekend.

The Kane County state’s attorney has filed first-degree murder charges against John Shenko of St. Charles for the attack early Sunday that killed 60-year-old Kevin Shenko. Police say Kevin Shenko was found dead outside his home in unincorporated St. Charles Township.

The (Arlington Heights) Daily Herald reports a prosecutor said during a Tuesday court hearing that Kevin Shenko’s body had more than 100 wounds.

Assistant Public Defender Kim Bilbrey said John Shenko is autistic and bipolar but not currently on medications. Bilbrey said Shenko had never been arrested before.

Shenko is scheduled for another court hearing Friday.
