NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. (AP) - Police in South Carolina say two people have been arrested in the shooting death of a man whose car they were trying to steal.
News outlets reported the shooting happened around 1 a.m. Monday in North Charleston.
Police said 20-year-old Brandon Daeshaun Myers of North Charleston and a 17-year-old North Charleston male have been charged with murder and attempted grand larceny.
The victim’s name has not been released.
Police say the suspects had the man’s keys from a previous break-in.
Investigators say the man came out of his home and fired two shots in the air. The suspects are accused of then killing the owner.
Police spokesman Spencer Pryor says officers chased the suspects into a nearby neighborhood and arrested them.
