CONCORD, N.H. (AP) - New Hampshire officials say the state’s unemployment rate for July was 2.8 percent, a decrease of a tenth of a percentage point from the June rate.

The seasonally adjusted unemployment rate for July 2016 was 2.9 percent.

The state estimates that 731,960 people were employed last month, an increase of 130 from the previous month and an increase of 4,290 from July 2016. The number of unemployed residents decreased by 870 to 20,800, which was 770 fewer people than in July 2016.

Nationally, the seasonally adjusted unemployment rate for July was 4.3 percent, a decrease of one tenth of a percentage point from the June rate. It was a decrease of 0.6 percentage points from the July 2016 rate.
