LANCASTER, Ohio (AP) - State troopers say a car ran off the road and over an embankment into a tree in a crash that killed the driver and her two passengers in central Ohio.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol post at Lancaster says driver Kathryn Sparks was traveling north on Ohio 158 in Fairfield County when the crash occurred Monday morning. Troopers say the 51-year old Columbus woman was taken to a hospital where she died.

The patrol says her passengers were 29-year-old Krista Keeton, of Lancaster, and 63-year-old Georgann Keeton, of Bremen. They died at the scene of the crash.

Troopers say it doesn’t appear the car was traveling at a high rate of speed, but the cause of the crash wasn’t immediately known.

The investigation is continuing.
