BURLINGTON, Vt. (AP) - A woman who Vermont police arrested over the weekend for allegedly leaving her 2-year-old child in the car with an active drug user has been detained again.

Twenty-nine-year-old Amber Fusco, of Burlington, was charged Sunday with child cruelty. Fusco was arrested after a concerned shopper called 911 from a South Burlington supermarket parking lot Sunday. Police say Fusco lied about leaving her daughter in the car with her high friend while she bought alcohol. Police later found drug paraphernalia in the car, though Fusco denied doing drugs.

On Monday, police recognized Fusco’s car from the previous day and stopped her. She was cited for driving with a suspended license and detained.

Fusco’s attorney could not be reached for comment Tuesday.
