MILFORD, Mass. (AP) - A man police say fatally stabbed one man and seriously wounded another has been indicted on a manslaughter charge.

Nineteen-year-old Jeremy Robin, of Milford, had originally been arraigned on two counts of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, but will now face the more serious charge when arraigned in Superior Court at a future date. The indictment came down Tuesday.

Police say Robin fatally stabbed 21-year-old Timothy Commerford and injured 54-year-old Richard Garcia in May. The Milford Daily News reports (https://bit.ly/2uIP1TP ) that Robin’s attorney says his client acted in self-defense, adding that Robin is charged with manslaughter because there is not enough evidence for a murder charge.

A spokesman for the district attorney’s office declined to comment on the indictment.
